broken ground is really good
but overall it feels like i've heard it all before. kinda like neurosis by the numbers. funny thing because thats exactly how i always felt about times of grace and these two albums seem to get compared here a lot.

on first listen it sounds like Neurosis played it p safe.. good grooves and riffs but something was missing.. idk needs more listens.

Neurosis is probably my favorite band and I don't think they have one album that I've really liked right off the bat. It's always a long process of the album just chipping away at me. Haven't heard this one yet, but I imagine it'll be the same deal. Only thing I'm a little disappointed in is that it's 5 songs and only 40 minutes long.

First listen (only because i found out it leaked 1hour before work) and I liked it. Not instantly blown away. Some really good parts and some that felt a bit 'plodding' maybe. Noah didnt really stand out on first listen either. Looking forward to at least 5 listens tommorrow!
