damn man, thanks for the reminder
I'm about to jam some "my song"
I've been enjoying some "Sonic Evolution" by Mad Season all day. Chris Cornell with an orchestra behind him playing old "Mad Season" songs.

I'd take Ten as the best grunge album but damn this is so awesome too

It's a hard tie between Dirt and Ten for me, insanely hard to pick a clear favorite. Since they're both two favorite bands of mine, it becomes even harder to choose solely one record.

I prefer Dirt, but Ten comes close

Dirt is much better.

Normally, metal fans tend to prefer stuff such as Soundgarden or Alice In Chains when it comes to grunge, while fans of strictly more rock oriented stuff lean on Pearl Jam or Screaming Trees (mad underrated band) a bit more. I'm a total grunge kid all around, so all of it works fine for me :]

That makes sense, I just feel as if there really isn't a mediocre song on Dirt. Ten has a lot of tracks that do nothing for me, mainly the second half of the album. I've always thought Live's Throwing Copper should've taken it's place in terms of critical reception and fame, even though it really isn't grunge.

This is more consistent but the higher points in Ten are better for me

Live was a nice band, but far from Pearl Jam in many ways. The band just had an enormous charisma to it, such great consistency from one album to another, stunning creativity and interplay, a huge stage presence, memorable live shows, and of course amazing lyrics and vocals from one of the most talented and iconic frontmen of the past 20 or so years. Lots of bands tried to imitate Pearl Jam, and it's a pretty safe bet to say they all failed to reach the heights that band achieved.
