Intentions and Type Three are the standouts for me. I think Cities has this beat imo.

Finally listening to this and it's pgood but Innocent is goddamn atrocious

Fantastic album, definitely one of their best so far. I'll agree that it is not "Cities", but it really isn't trying to be. It is great in its own right. I would say that this is on that same level though.

Call me a whimp but the production in this makes me want to cry.

It's not even bad besides Modern Age
It's not as clear as NS and maybe some of the mixing could have been better in songs like Orpheum and God, Drugs, and Sex (but the later is just a little dense, not really bad production), but makes you cry? C'mon

I've listened to this a bunch of times and haven't noticed any problem with the production, but I
honestly don't care too much about that in the first place.

Yeah, same here. Production would have to be fairly to pretty bad for me to take notice and/or have it detract from my overall listening experience.

Little Tyrants makes me want to start a revolution

I would like to take part in this revolution you speak of, but it will depend on one contributing factor: will there be snacks? I bet we will bring up an appetite revolutioning about all willy-nilly and whatnot.
Fuckin love Little Tyrants. That guitar solo is probably their best one yet. I wish the lead guitarist would solo a little more often.

"The solo in Miserabile Visu is pretty sweet too"
Yeah, but it kind of loses steam after he starts shredding a little for that beginning part and then he just lays on bends on vibrato until it's over. Only part of the song that kind of bums me out. I do love the lead guitar part over the "Look children to the eastern sky" vocal section.

Yeah I'm listening right now and I see what you mean. To be honest, one of my biggest pet peeves with Anberlin is the soloing. It seems 80% of their solos are just bends and tremolo picking (these tremolo picked solos I almost hesitate to call solos).

Oh, yeah, I feel like they could utilize it more often. Like on To The Wolves and Reclusion (Glass To The Arson has a tremolo-ish one, but it doesn't bother me). Only part of those songs that irritate me are those bendy, almost solos. Otherwise, I love them both. Readyfuels, Godspeed, The Feel Good Drag and Little Tyrants all have fantastic solos. Hell, even their cover of Love Song (which is awesome) has a cool little mini-solo that's better than the first two I mentioned.

Agreed, I wish they'd bust out those shred solos more than once an album, they're really good at them. I like the tremolo-picked one in Desires though, that one seems to fit better.

Yeah, in some of the not-so-rocky songs like Art of War, the tremolo kinda solos are fine but in general I think songs like To The Wolves could use a shredding solo. Agreed that Desires' solo works surprisingly well though

I forgot about the Desires one. It works pretty well, like Glass To The Arson's.
