I haven't listened to this yet, but Mackelmore has always seemed pretty corny and lame to me... will any of these songs change my mind?

macklemore is just atmosphere-lite meets mac miller. Not very intelligent. Anybody can bullshit a socially conscious rap album. I mean, look at what talib kweli and mos def put out every year. It's all bullshitted. and as for the meaningful part, something being meaningful is a very broad definition man.

I'm a huge hip-hop head, but being a technically good rapper and being creative and having a good style is more important to me than "meaningful" raps. That's why I'd rather listen to DOOM or Nas or BIG or Mos Def or Del than 2pacs social stuff or Chuck D ect. Not that those mentioned aren't meaningful, but there's a difference. That said, I've only heard a handful of the guys songs. He just doesn't seem like much of a rapper, more of an activist, or a poet or something.

^ Agree Urinetrouble (lol)... socially conscious has been done, and a lot better than any of the new
guys i'm hearing.

Aussies and Canadians are so connected I swear. Everything that is popular out west always ends up blowing up in oz.
