2012 was a bad year for Arab post-rock yes

I think this is arguably their worst album. No cohesion whatsoever. Even Luciferian Towers flows better than this.

I might love this. Pleasantly surprised given the break between Yanqui and this. I wasn’t really sure what to expect.

It's better than Yanqui and Slow Riot and I will die on that hill

Haven't jammed Slow Riot in years but I have an instinct that says you're probably right tbh

Ik I should relisten to yanqui soon to justify how much shit I talk on it but ughhh it was so boooooring the first 3 times
|

I’d pick yanqui over this and slow riot. I’m not sure what to rate this yet tho

they didn't play the slow riot tracks this time but instead did Mladic as the closer and gd that song goes so hard live. You wouldn't think a 10-minute klezmer jam session would pulverize and elevate to such a degree, but somehow they found a way.

Their Helicopters Sing is one of the most sinister pieces of music I've ever listened to, wow.

I remember pooping my pants when I found out they got back together after so long, and then being underwhelmed by this album. Should revisit it maybe. I'll never forget seeing them on a high dose of shrooms with a room full of tripping boomer hippies, easily the best show I ever went to

Mladic and We Drift are anything but underwhelming, they deserve repeated listens if they didn't click the first time.

I was expecting big crescendos and I didn't feel like I got that. It's been a long time since I listened to it though. Might do a discog run soon, I've been jamming F# and Skinny recently
