The most insane part is that song is absolutely perfect already on its own but Waiting for 22 elevates it above even that. I don’t care if that doesn’t make sense. I could gush about this record for hours.

Ok. Desert island. Only 5 albums. Go.

Pink floyd - the dark side of the moon

Ulcerate - everything is fire

Neurosis - through silver in blood

Demilich - nespithe

Meshuggah - nothing (blue)

It would pain me greatly. But. Gun to my head, I would reduce my musical collection to these 5 probably

It rules a lot but nah not a 5. I reserve 5s for dm and meshuggah only hehe

Jk idk. It's an awesome album for sure. Eyes of a stranger is absolutely legendary as a closer. Idk. Just doesn't hit the magical number quite for me

Defenders (Priest), MiJ (Purple) and this would prob make such a desert island cut for me.

Hard to pick one for Floyd, but maybe Dark Side.

I'll throw in Version 2.0 by Garbage for my #5.

Don't get sick of that one.

I’ve never actually listened to Garbage outside of their singles. Maybe I’ll jam that record tonight

Brilliant the way the I Don't Believe in Love riff comes in.

I Don't Believe in Love never gets old but with time I discovered the real treasure of listening to it is to let it flow into Waiting for 22 and My Empty Room, so good

^ The chords in waiting for 22 are so fucking haunting. It's honestly incredible what they did on this.

With the caveat that the desert island five doesn't necessarily mean that they are my five favorites, as I'd want to have some fairly different sounding albums, mine would be

Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime

Rosetta - The Galilean Satellites

Thrice - Vheissu

Lacuna Coil - Comalies

Seal - Seal (1991)

You ain't shittin'

This album is foundational for me, literally a pillar of my existence and a cornerstone of nearly every relationship, personal or emotional, in my life. I can't imagine something usurping it. I don't even know how that could be possible. It's basically my best friend, having been there since I was eight.
