I just said that the band was boring and not good. he was rather perturbed. it was a 4 comment long argument. I guess that's a bit of an accomplishmen.
|
| |
oh, my bad - i thought you meant you flamed him for his adoration of the album.

I think he was a little bit more upset because there was another review for it that was a 4/10 and some others were heckling him before I saw the review.

I'm pretty sure at those kind of sites and magazines they get the staff together and find out which member liked the album the most and get him/her to write it

I like this much better then Day & Age. Album never seems to stay in a general direction but it's anthemic and back in the direction of Sam's Town. I've given up hope on a Hot Fuss 2 but let's be honest, Brandon Flowers will not be writing about prom nights, friends of jenny or girl friends he had in February any more.

Eh I prefer the lazy, un-critisized and flawed vocals of Hot Fuss. It just sounded innocent and honest. I feel he really took to heart a lot of the criticisms on his vocals from Hot Fuss and has been critiquing his style since.

Agreed, he definitely has a bigger arsenal now, but sometimes simplicity and being straightforward, without too many bells and whistles, is more satisfying. Hot Fuss is arguably my most nostalgic album beside 3EB, I've listened to it so many times and associate it with so many friends and memories I don't think I'm capable of viewing objectively.

I prefer the Post-Punk sounds on Hot Fuss over the Beatles-esque/Americana of Sam's Town.

i've seen a lot of publications going no higher than 6/10 for this. for the record i despise sam's town and sort of enjoyed
day & age and consider hot fuss their best

Wow, so I take it this album really isn't gonna get any highly positive reviews on sputnik? This album is a 4/5 for me, I might give it a review.
