Yeah this and Retribution are classics for sure. These guys are underrated too imo, I don't really get how some people can call this generic especially since a lot of these songs were written by '87-'89.

MC will forever be criminally underrated for various reasons...this album absolutely KILLS...song writing, vocal delivery, drumming, tempo/time shifts, etc. so fucking killer....this has held up on years worth of listens better than a lot of 'classics" most would put above it

Yes you would. Immolation is better over the years, but Malevolent's first two albums rips pretty hard. Fast paced than Immo, but not quite as heavy, though just as punchy. MC's vocals are easier to understand and they have a thrashier sound. On their second album they're less thrashy

Immolation started out awesome too though. DoP and HiA both rip hard as fuck. Idk about the vocals, both are very easy to understand.
I don't think liking Immolation means they will like this just because they don't sound similar at all. I'd put this (and especially Retribution) with something like Solstice and maybe Monstrosity' debut kinda. I think asking "Will I like this if I like Immo" is like saying "I like dm, will I like this?". Maybe, maybe not. It rips though so definitely check it.
