i mean it is cut from the same cloth of MPP, albeit twisted and weirder. but while i always enjoy the experience of listening to the album in full, think it's well-constructed and consistently engaging etc., i just don't think there are stand-out songs. New Town Burnout is closest. Maybe Amanita?

Skiff is better than Isn't it, but they should have been one record with all of the boring ass songs cut. With a song like, 'Defeat,' you don't need any other drawn-out snoozers. That one does the Swans thing well enough on its own.

Every song on here except moonjock and applesauce has slight to moderate “miss” energy

Only one that is a miss for me is 'Rosie Oh.' They were on fire for this one. On their recent stuff, it feels like they are still feeling the sting of this one so they try to avoid going too nuts. Cautious anco is boring.
