Love the avatar Kyle. I think you're the only one that really likes this album, I've read alot of neg towards it. Whatever, I will probably like it cuz this is one of the few bands we can agree on.

It's everywhere, tpb, blogspots... Just type it in 4shared.net - I would buy the cd though.

This sounds great, I'll check it out. The samples have me thinking of Damnation but I could be way off.

everything you said about this album can be applied to NITND. NITND is more varied than this album. Matter in fact, this album is just a more musically stripped down version of with more emphasis on the vocals.
I'm not so familiarized to NITND honestly, I only listened a couple of songs to write my rev and be able to compare it to any other Katatonia album (Since I've only heard full BMD, TGCD and this). I'll listen to it and shout you when I do, that set aside.. Do you like this one? I mean, at first listen it is bland but eventually it becomes great. I do bashed a couple of aspects from the album though.

You are not so way off, the production is simiar to Steven Wilson's era Damnation enchanced with
electronic elements and symphonic arrangements. And some songs certainly have an Opethish feel, the
last song "Dead Letters" rips off riffs from Tool's Jambi haha.

Pretty decent stuff. Heard some tracks through Terrorizer/Metal Hammer free CDs and liked what I heard.
Also how does one get features? Gonna review Sylencer's debut album soon (streaming on bandcamp atm) and think it deserves some attention due to the amount of guest musicians which includes members of Testament, Death, Dethklok, Zimmers Hole (yes one of them is Gene Hoglan but he's not the only one for those 4 bands combined), Iced Earth, Dream Theater, Anthrax and more. Though it probably depends on how good my review is too.

Nice review, this sounds promising, might pick this one up.

Discovered these guys when they opened for Opeth late last year, and I'm quite impressed by what I've heard from them so far. Might check this out, since I haven't listened to any of their albums in full yet.

Unfortunately, so far this album has no replay value for me at all, I got bored on first listen and switched it off halfway through. Still absolutely determined to give it at least a couple of fair listens though, so gonna try again right now.

tbh you gotta be in the Katatonia mood to get in this album, first time i wasn't in it at all, I was in a still in a Dir En Grey mood (Like a mix of Blut Aus Nord, generic Deathcore, and Faith No More) for like 3-4 months straight, been in the mood for like 2-3 days now and i can say that it is better than tgcd

I'm not enjoying this nearly as much as I had hoped. It's like 3/5 right now.

Holy shit The Act of Darkening is good. Hate it when the best tracks are b-sides.

Nope, they weren't missing out hahahaha. This just plain sucked. Once again, I think putting this down for a month or two and then coming back to it when I'm in the proper mood might help.
