First track is perfect. All I'm looking for from Enslaved.

I like his harsh vocals so much more here too than on recent releases. He's really lost that raspy quality and has gotten much croakier. Pity, but understandable.

Yeah I hear that more often. I personally like the mid-era the most. Everything after Below the Lights didn't strike me as very interesting, which is a very unpopular opinion I guess.

I mean, they're good, but I feel like Mardraum, Monumension and Below the Lights have something special, whereas the ones after that are a little less adventurous.

Still hope I'll think differently eventually because I would love to love them if that makes sense...

I see your point and although I'm of the complete opposite opinion I just think it goes to show how diverse these guys are. I'd bet that any metal fan would find at least one period in this band's career that completely speaks to their tastes if not more. Personally I love almost everything they have done.
