Yeah I get that. It took a while for it to click for me but now Suitcase is one of my favorites.

I'd take this over BSN any day, but it doesn't touch their first two.

This feels like their most well-rounded to me but I still definitely prefer olg for being more mystical

First initial impression: this is flawed, a bit overlong and self indulgent at times, but really really good. And those flaws are interestingly what partly gives this its charm.
Definitely their most interesting album (so far, haven’t heard Descensus and Amulet yet). I expected something mediocre seeing as how it’s their lowest rated album, but so far this would be my 2nd favorite after BSN. Definitely need to give a few more spins for a definitive rating though.

That first four song stretch is amazing. An emotional rollercoaster for sure.

I really think this album is better than Juturna and I like it more

Fuck, this album is actually brilliant. It’s a journey. Just something special about it. Might be my favorite CS album so far actually.

Probably my least favorite honestly. But it’s still fucking fantastic.
Glad you’re digging it dude! Are you listening through their discog in order?

Yup! Going chronologically. So far, I’d rank them:
Blue Sky Noise > Violent Waves (need to give it a few listens to see whether it tops BSN for me) > Juturna > On Letting Go (has some of their best songs, but nearly half the album is dull and unmemorable imo)

To be fair, the first four songs are probably the best here. At the very least they’re the most immediate. Second half seems to be more of a grower.

def the case for this album but i find like half of circas discography to be growers and i just havent given as much time to this one, but i definitely should bc the albums that are more immediate for me i love (bsn, juturna, descensus)

The second half here is definitely a lot of growers, I only liked Bird Sounds when I first heard it and now I think this is pretty level throughout

Nice Larkin, that's awesome. I wish I could go back and revisit all of these for the first time, kinda jealous lol. If you liked BSN the most then make sure to check the Appendage EP as well. It's BSN B-sides and it rules.

Ahh yes, thanks for the reminder re Appendage. Was planning on checking it out but had forgotten. I’ll probably check that out next (gonna stay with this one for a bit longer first, really liking it) before moving on to Descensus.

Imo Appendage is better than like 90% of bsn

This is at least a 4 so I’m gonna go ahead and slap it with one, but I think it might be a 4.5 after a few more listens. Can’t say for sure yet — the second half is still growing on me.
