Well, that live version of Weight with Justin Chancellor is really good and they did opened for Tool, however, I've never heard that much of a Tool influence, at least not from Ænima backwards.

It's time to give this bad boy a well deserved 5. What an album man!

Band goating from the very beginning.

Btw: I love Tool very very much (5d most of their discog), but there is something about Isis's atmospheric brand of music that puts them above Tool in my Pantheon. Isis are just too good.

Btw, best sounding version of this album is https://www.discogs.com/release/2109730-Isis-Celestial-SGNL05

@bananatossing recommended that to me and it took me by surprise. I loved the Ipecac remasters but this one in particular is way better for Celestial. More organic and clean sounding, very studio like. It's got more dynamic range than the Ipecac remaster too. Low end is more polished so it's not as heavy, but all things considered it's superior imho.

Glad you've been enjoying this album, Frost. I think a lot of fans dislike it because it's not as atmospheric or refined as latter records.

happy Saturday. i want to rec Zeni Geva to fans of this album. it's a Japanese sludge metal / noise rock project, more heavy on the sludge and the metal than you usually hear with that combo. called themselves progressive hardcore

here's my fav song by them rn called "Nai-Ha" from their 1993 EP

https://youtu.be/r3DVc00JfDo

here's their most popular song "Dead Sun Rising" from 1993 LP Desire For Agony

Okay here we go. Is the remaster noticeably better or does it matter?

Call me crazy but I think I'm starting to place this one on Panopticon and Oceanic´s league. Immense album, so underrated
