This is such an amazing album jesssus.

Honestly I haven't heard any album that quite captures the emotions this one does.

I'm actually at the point that I like his Mount Eerie album more than this one. Never thought it would happen

My roots are strong and deep blows my my mind every single time. And I want wind to blow makes me feel like a dancing blade of grass it’s such a wonderful feeling. I really want the rest of this to grow on me cuz those songs (and the glow) are just breath taking

Jamming the first 3 tracks a few times sucked me in to Phil's world. Really though, this is a 'full album' type of album; individually the songs are fantastic, but only as a whole does it reach classic status for me,

I’m kind of the opposite on this tbh, first three tracks are classic-level but nothing else here quite gets there and I find the whole thing a bit long-winded/redundant after a while.

I couldn’t get all the way thru cuz songs like moon and headless horseman just seemed bare like I was wasting my time. But I can’t state enough how much I’m in love with wind and my roots. My roots is short but soul cleansing

this has the best opening 1-2-3 of any album

the rest of the album suffers a tad because of it, impossible to live up to those standards for 10+ tracks

I should for sure give the moon another listen, it’s not the song I thought it was

I don't know how you will take this, folks, but I really want to 1.5 this record. But I can't, so you can celebrate still.

I need to listen to moon a few more times before I form any judgement on it tbh

Eh the beauty of the moon for me is how Phil smothers those rootsy guitars with all the other shit. Feels kinda tragic.

Generally, yeah the first 4 tracks are amongst the best, but goddam I just love the whole thing. Re jammed it this evening. Phil just fucks around with some fascinating textures and constantly subverts your expectations as the listener. Feels utterly genuine too, just him doing whatever he felt like and whatever came to mind.
