I agree that both are atmospheric, but I get a totally different vibe from Dead Dear than what this gives me. As my rating indicates, I like this atmosphere a little bit better

@UpwardSpiral finally loving Mount Eerie (the album), 5 listen is apparently the charm

I actually have yet to jam it in full. I have listened to the first couple of tracks and I already love what I've heard. It's nothing that affects me the way this record does (yet), but I still really dig it.

Definitely give it a go when you can. Certainly a difficult listen though, nowhere near as immediate as this. But as you said you were digging what you heard on first go then you should be fine

Yeah for sure. There is this interview where he mentions the re-release of glow pt2. 'That's just a record that I made, a long time ago'. Just a record?!

Yeah haha, on his site I'm pretty much it says something like 'so yeah, this is the one people keep buying for some reason, so I repressed it'

I'm not surprised, this probably wasn't any more special to him while making it than any of his others at the time, it just happens to be the one that people connected with on different level.

Yeah I'm sure you're right, its just the way he doesn't seem to recognise and/or comprehend the impact its made, or at least understand why, which is also understandable.

I went to The Business (the record store in Anacortes, Phil's home town) and bought this on vinyl and the Dawn winter journal. I fucking love this man and everything he's ever done

In holiday in San Francisco and found a goldmine of Phil's work in a record store. Hoping to scoop it all up before I leave

That's sick dude, I've never found a record store besides The Business that had any of his stuff. This one had his entire discography and all the miscellaneous photography books and stuff

Yeah it's the first store I've seen any of Phil's work in. Ended up buying the lot. I'm going to miss being able to afford food
