I just dropped like $50 buying this band's discog on CD and I'm really not sure why. just kind of an expensive impulse purchase I guess

That is an odd choice. I've always considered The Haunted to be the epitome of beige-ness. They're too good to be bad, but too bad to be good.

yeah man, it's pretttty solid still. The production on this is insanely good for modern metal it's so heavy. All the slow songs on this kinda suck, but the bangers are amazing m/

Nothing Right's really good.
Wish Dolving would have sang more. Much prefer his singing to his screams

Nothings Right has SO many tasty riffs and grooves man. What a great chorus as well

I had no idea people were so salty about The Haunted back in the day! Span this yesterday whilst cooking dinner, still a great album.

I don't know man, maybe i lived in a bubble, but me and my friends loved this band in high school. It was like ATG/Slayer all in one. What's not to love? I still jam the s/t, this, and the Dead Eye every now and then. I honestly think Dolving had one of the best voices in metal

Completely agree with you there @DungeonBoy, this band went down very well between me and my friends. One of the first ever gigs I went to was seeing these guys at The Wedgwood Rooms in Portsmouth back in like 04/05.

yeah 99 is a classic tune from the high school days haha
this band's first couple records still hold up pretty well imo

ah nice dude! I saw them in Springfield at Jaxx when they released THMMDI, sadly i've only ever caught them with Aro, but they put on an amazing show.

I think this and their s/t debut are their strongest efforts, love the straightforward thrash aggression of the latter.
Need to revisit The Dead Eye again (got it on CD somewhere...), but pretty much checked out after that release. Listened to Versus and Unseen a couple of years ago, wasn't really taken by them.

The Dead Eye is a weird album, but it's really great imo. It's definitely more midpaced than this and the s/t, but the songwriting is pretty solid, I feel it's a bit underrated but could see how it's a could be polarizing as it was a big departure from anything before it. I can't say the same for anything after it though, not really a fan.

This was when so many metal bands had such fire lead singles out. God Forbid, The Haunted, Bloodsimple, Cradle of Filth, and so many more.

don't even remember making this comment and 2 years later and I'm actually quite a fan now so it wasn't such a bad expensive impulse purchase after all

I feel really bad that I gave this a 1.5 review and over 10,000 people read it. 😞
