I see nothing special about this band, and Matty sounds like shit on this.

This band could've been a lot better if they would've stuck to their style on Sleepwalking and not become just another generic Rise band.

I agree with lucas, Matty's vocals aren't very good on this album. All the songs sound the same with no variation. I really wish they would go back to the Sleepwalking sound.

Sleepwalking is really good.

They will never top You're Lucky It's Not 1692, that song slays.

How can you possibly derive any form of enjoyment above a 1.5 out of this?
Mattie is same-y and weak.
Production is too glossy and overdone.
Songwriting is generic and boring.
Everything is a rehash.
Too many fucking breakdowns
Compared to their older stuff this is the epitome of anti-creativity

I never listened to Sleepwalking but the ep was great. This grew on me a little

Dunno if I commented on this but felt like saying it sucks.

This doesn't suck in my opinion. The only thing I really can't defend is the lyrics. They really do suck.

so you really think the music is good enough to bring this up to a 3.5+?

Album Rating: 3.5
Yeah everything else is well done.
Vocals are great, both clean and harsh.
Most of the guitar work (excluding the breakdowns) is so awesome and different from other risecore bands.
Production is a bit overdone but nothing distracting (at least to me).
I don't know why someone would give this more than a 4 though, and 3.5 is the highest I'm gonna go.

This is not well done.
Vocals are weaker and overproduced, more so than older releases.
Guitar work is not awesome and not different, what the fuck do you even have ears
Production is annoyingly overdone, I feel like I'm listening to pop
I don't know why this deserves above a 2

Vocals are a bit overproduced, but saying they are weak? no
This is the only risecore band where the guitar riffs are this groovy and technical.
Did you even listen to Jelzebel? That song is like killer riffs one after the other.
To me the production is okay, it never brought down the music.
I understand your points, but to me something must be really awful to give it a 1.5.

"this is the only risecore band where the guitar riffs are this groovy and technical."
"Did you even listen to Jelzebel? The song is like killer riffs one after the other."
Urban dictionary: "A sub-genre for bands on the label Rise Records or sound similar to bands on the label. Risecore tends to have a mix of post-hardcore, metalcore, and synthcore. Consisting of monotone or over exaggerated singing, distorted screaming, power chords, and multiple breakdowns (On occasions, synth breakdowns)."
If that isn't a good definition, I don't know what the fuck is. This album isn't groovy, or technical, it's a string-snapping, chaotic wail of fucked-up production. I understand your 3.5 rating, because there is some good stuff on here, but don't you dare criticize his rating for not listening to a particular track.

What I meant by risecore is bands like Asking Alexandria, Of Mice and Men, Woe, Is Me, Issues, Crown The Empire, Miss May I, Abandon All Shits..... Their mainstream post-harcore/metalcore bands. Memphis May Fire's guitar work is clearly above all of them.
I didn't criticize him because he didn't listen to one song. I just gave the best example.

That's assuming Risecore is any good.
