In my opinion, a really good album review would be like a really good movie review -- no spoilers. Just a broad explanation of what works and what doesn't.
YES, this. Forever this.

Never really listened to her before, but I'm quite enjoying this record. "Left Alone" and "Periphery" in particular are good tracks.

the two before this are fantastic records, you aught to give those a listen. tidal was written when she was like 14-18 and is a good piece of work in its own right but the other two are pretty essential imo

I agree 100% Spare. This is definitely appearing on my end of the year list.

I'm not going to get into the whole "Irving being fisterbutted" debate (because that sounds messy), but as a reader I found it annoying how many times the word/name "Fiona" was mentioned. Not so much re: the earlier insinuation of it not being album specific, nor because it made the review too personal (although that was borderline), BUT simply because it felt overly repetitive.
My suggestion would be to throw in an "Apple", or a "(insert how old she is here) year old", or a "(insert what state she is from here)ian". You'd be surprised as to how easily it works.

@DaveyBoy As I said, whenever I was talking about Fiona doing something I was talking about her doing this on the album. I should have put it as "on this album" more frequently to avoid giving the impression that I'm just talking about how she works in general.

Huh? You're not getting my point. I don't care if the word is gorilla, try not to use the same word/name over & over. Throw in "primate" occasionally instead.
And like Klap said, even then, the surname would be more preferable... Unless you know her personally.

@DaveyBoy Oh. Well, yeah I understand what you're getting at. I know that I needed to mix it up more in this review, and that the surname is more professional sounding.

This is fucking awesome!! I was watching Late Night With Jimmy Fallon tonight and she was a guest and performer and I loved the song she played so right after it ended I hopped on here to see if an album had come out and I saw the review on the front and now I'm listening to it in pure amazement.

Have to listen to it again, but liked it upon first listen.
She should put on some more weight, I miss the fullness her face used to have.
