I actually like Sefless as much as Pure
it's definitely their more rockin album and has some of their best songs

Agreed^^^^! Can't fucking wait until he drops new Godflesh in 2014. My life is missing some good industrial!

What kind of record do you guys think it'll end up being? Double concept album, by the numbers outing, return to roots, return to roots with added influences and ambition or one giant and destructive song?

"return to roots with added influences"
knowing how broadrick works this is the most likely
|
| |
Yep I think so too
|
| |
Still, one can still dream about Godflesh making an hour long song

“It’s very much like the Godflesh of old, as in the first few albums, up to and including Selfless. It’s brutal, minimal, direct, punishing, unforgiving, surreal, discordant, and so on! But it also has a few songs with hip-hop beats, quite like Pure but much bigger!”

I believe the "much bigger" part, thanks to production currently
and I also believe him for GF playing again Streetcleaner and Pure in full; for sure those must have brought back muscle memory

It's going to be like Hymns because this is his comeback record and he's not going to fuck with this sound.

I like it for what it is, and that is including groovy headbanging tunes

yeah. this album doesn't seem to get as much love as some others like the obvious ones and Hymns but honestly over time I've grown to love this nearly as much as Pure
also headbanging hard to Amoral right now my brain hurts but it rules

it's unfair to pit aesthetically different records against the more popular ones that capture more-or-less the band's overall style

record just sounds tired and shallow to me tbh, their only lowpoint; although it's helldub brother is rather delightful
