Never understood how can people put this on same level of "Slanted and Enchanted". By this point, Sebadoh was all about experimentation in quantity, not songwritting quality. They would get a lot better after Eric Gaffney left the band, i assure you.

Everything pre-Bubbles sounds like demos and unfinished ideas to me. I know that is how lo-fi is supposed to sound, but when you are familiar to polished music it is really hard to get into lo-fi recording, even if i can identify melody all over it.

Thats why Bakesale and Harmacy are my favorites sebadoh records. They sound complete.

i generally appreciate lou's sincere wimpiness over malkmus's too-cool-to-care attitude but pavement are pretty top tier for college rock

automatic for the people is like the precursor to all the car commercial indie i hate but i like their 80s records and green has some good pop stuff on it

automatic is extremely overrated but the IRS albums are basically the peak of alt rock. first three are all perfect
