I can understand some of the disapointment, as I too was a little underwhelmed at first. I am still confused why they shyed away from the drums, which is one of my favorite parts of this group, on this album. They are no where to be found on the final 4 songs. And those final 3 songs, I wonder why they chose not to have any words, and are basically just instrumental music. The album builds momentum and peaks at Rembihnútur, one of their best anthems yet, and then just slowly fizzles out for the next almost 30 minutes. A very strange album indeed.

overall though I think this is a nice album - nothing more, nothing less. a soothing listen, easy to get lost in, but nothing really more than that. i'm not really disappointed since honestly that's what sigur rós has always been, just well disguised, they're embracing it here
it's p. much in terms of aesthetic a more quiet and slow icelandic version of the new anathema
