compared to the rest of the world, the people on this site have some pretty damned unique opinions on music.

At my school, people haven't even heard of Opeth. Here, everyone and their mother knows them. Everybody else is listening to pop and punk and mainstream rock.

But I guess thats to be expected on an elitist site such as this.

it's not that you guys don't listen to obscure music or whatever it's that you guys all like the same obscure music and dislike the same obscure music. it's like one of you guys writes a review and everyone else jumps all over it and conforms to the reviewer's opinion.

^^^That's only partially true, and from what I've seen, much more in the metal section that anywhere else.

Not that we really care what you think ;)

this is true actually, but not in all cases.

I personally find Necrophagist to be incredibly shallow and uninteresting, like the only thing they want to do is be as technical as possible, but a hell of a lot of people would disagree.

Like yourself, I also find Swallow the Sun to be mind-numbingly average. I used to like them, but they wore off incredibly fast.

But this is just me.

Don't listen to them Commortus! We all come to Sputnik to seek our strongly needed daily portion of acceptance and loving, because the big cruel world out there doesn't want us. We secretly thrive on it and have to identify with everyone else here to mildly patch up our emotional and psychological wounds. Did I mention some people actually find our future partners here?

..or you could realize that people like what they like, sit back and enjoy discussing about it!

That said, I only recently actually got this album together with Deliverance. I don't really know what kept me from buying them, but I'm glad I remembered to. This is definately one of their strongest outings yet, even if they have to thank Wilson mostly for helping them transcend themselves.

Album is amazing

anyone who rates this a 1 should be gagged, tied to a cactus and lashed a thousand times for his utter ignorance and stupidity.

i absolutely love this album to just sit around and get stoned too.. it makes me go to my own little opeth world far away from reality where life is simple and meaningful again.
