bought this recently and it's quite a departure, certainly.
In My Time of Need is the highlight at this stage. a few more listens will no doubt generate a strong rating.

This is probably the only Opeth album I'll ever listen too. Each time I try to listen to the band that annoying growling voice crops up and I turn it off. This album doesn't have that, and is wonderfully written.

To this day I don't care for/dislike 90% of metal's harsh vocals. Difference is they don't get in the way of me enjoying the music anymore.
