Affer more time with this, it's great, but isn't quite Artic Monkeys enough for me. Whatever that means.

What does this mean? Isn't this their only release?

Well I've finally had a listen to these guys after all the hype... I'll have to say that I'm very impressed!

Well written review by the way =P

"LOL".

My oh my, how correct you are, "Iai". Your intellectual argument has completely swayed my opinion.

And as for the "And?", if they've been around that long, surely their doing something right?

I also believe they have slightly more expertise on the genre than The Guardian. This Message Edited On 05.15.06

I think this album is pretty overrated... It's alright but not worth the hype IMO.

The verse in Riot Van is practically identical to the verse in When The Sun Goes Down.

The fact that the Arctic Monkeys are said to be the new Beatles, sickens me.

Yeh nice review, this album is a great buy, but I did get a bit bored of. Still I give a listen to now and then.

I grew tired of this band with incredible haste. This album really, really, really just didn't do it for me - everything TAM were doing, I'd heard bands in the 80s doing plenty before them, and in my opinion, better. It was fun for a while, but that's all that I can see them riding on - pure 'fun' and energy, and I personally need a band with more depth in their songwriting. And I see TAM as a very average band.

Aside from the fact that you wrote 'gr8' there's nothing to bear with

Good review, great album. From the Ritz to the Rubble has to be my personal favorite.

This album really has gotten old, fast. Do not really listen to it anymore, but still some solid pop songs.

The big question is whether they can do it again on their next album. That will tell you how much staying power they have.

If the next album can keep the same quality then I can know if they will stay around.

I listened to this yesterday while playing Toejam & Earl. There are certaintly some fun, catchy hooks here and there but the music is still kind of boring. The problem with the Arctic Monkeys is how they don't bring anything new to the table; their pop rock sound is enjoyable yet it gets repetitive after a few listens.

"They reckon they'll have the new album ready for release a year to the day after the first. Rushing it much?"

Naw, I've thought that the songs on the two EPs they've released since the album were of high quality. Though they did lose the bassist, which could mean the end of bass lines like from "From the Ritz to the Rubble" which would certainly bring a tear to my eye. This Message Edited On 09.12.06This Message Edited On 09.12.06
