For me, an album doesn't have to be groundbreaking to receive a good grade. This just sucks.

This has some solid moments...it just isn't really any fun to listen to. Not that an album has to be "fun" to be considered a worthy listen. This just seems lethargic compared to Shrouded Divine, which hasn't lost any of its luster since I first heard it.

Those lead guitar melodies start to get really tedious after about 4 or 5 tracks. Combined with the lethargic pacing and tempo that's pretty much a constant, there's just no appeal for me to sit through repeated listens of this.

Very good music, but...

I love that song too, but Colossus beats it by a tiny bit.

Great review.

Colossus is easily the best track in the album, and the second best track they've ever done (next to The Black Lodge). Album was great, but... well... it lacked energy - at some points, it was almost boring as hell.

^It's totally worth it, but the best track is the first one.

Lol are they serious with Celestial Tear? Album starts off incredibly well and then you hit that cheese. One of the most comical tracks I think I've heard lyrically. If you're going to go for the clean vocal/slower track route for the love of god at least focus on songwriting before you begin. Jesus.
