I had some time now for this album to sink in and its still one of the better metalcore albums out there, for serial!

i think the amount of atmospheric bits is what sets them apart from the pack. i just hope they don't scrap those for the next album.

I've been listening to this a ton of late. Upped the rating - it's simply fantastic. Every song is awesome but highlights for me are definitely The Bloodening, Realist Surrealist and A Day In the Death.

New Johnny Truant song is finally out. 'Death rides' www.myspace.com/johnnytruant

I loled at the song name... new song is, well, very different. Sounds way more Hardcore, which I kind of feared they'd go after hearing their Cancerbats cover. Pretty good song at 1:50 onwards, took me a few listens to like it. I'm undecided if I really like the new song or not though... at least untill I hear the rest of the album. I fucking adore this cd, but I'm really not sure about the new one after hearing 'Death Rides' it just doesn't do anything for me, especially since the first time I heard 'The Bloodening' I nearly shit myself.

JT > Metalcore (except Converge and Poison the Well).

I thought the new song was aight but I agree that the new sound is kinda iffy.

But it has been 3 years since they recorded this plus the addition of a 2nd guitarist propted me to think something like Death Rides was gonna happen.

And like Existance said, there looks to be a big hardcore focus which isn't cool because I can't help but feel the Architects are already a hardcored up Johnny Truant and JT should stick to their guns.

Actually I think Nightmares and this share alot of similarities but are executed differently in production.

That's also why I think the Architects changed it up on Ruin, to differ themselves from Johnny to not draw too many comparisions.

But then again I think way too deeply about this shit. This Message Edited On 02.27.08

New song is up to par with this album. Some crazy dynamics in the song as well. It almost sounds like they listened to alot of Mastodon while recording that song. This Message Edited On 02.27.08

The beginning for Throne Vertigo sounds very familiar (I'm thinking Parkway Drive but maybe not). And I'm starting to find lots of other similarities with other bands, but still this kicks ass.

Oh and the other bands probably was released after this. Or maybe I heard it from this band. Not sure anymore. I think I rated this too high as well >_>

JT are probably the best metalcore band besides maybe Architects atm.

Looking forward to their May UK tour. Will be interesting to see who supports too.

^^^ And no, if anything Dblitz, bands stole JT's ideas.

Parkway Drive are pretty lame, especially Horizons. Killing With A Smile is pretty good though.

Heh, read a page back about the part ripped into My Curse, its true! So Parkway Drive pretty much copied this, and I've also noticed similarities with Architects. This Message Edited On 02.29.08

I really liked Nightmares from Architects but Ruin did absolutely nothing for me, but it sounds as if JT has shifted towards that sound more then Library or Repercussions. I'm very worried about this new album.

Ruin was still good, Nightmares was still better imo.

The new JT song sounded fine to me
