I'm going to outright say that you mostly received negs because of the rating you gave this album. I won't neg this review, but I most certainly won't say that it's well-written either, because it is far from it. There are several grammatical errors, the actual content is extremely boring to read, your descriptors are of an elementary level at best, and there are instances where you use unnecessary capitalization ("Power Riff/Vocal tradeoff"). If you want me to point out these many instances I can and will, but I suggest you re-read this and see if you can catch them for yourself first.

Everyone hates nickelback... I've never heard their music, besides that one "this is why, you remind me" song. that was a pretty good song.

idc about jumping on hate bandwagons, but review doesn't read like a 5 (your average rating of the individual songs is like a ~4). Also, just my opinion, but "Rockstar" is even worse than most Nickelback songs, idk why you would give that one a 5.

Actually, if you went by his individual scoring of each song, it would amount to a 3.7, which would round to a 3.5. So no, the review doesn't really represent a "5" at all.

I rated the songs based on the album. I didn't actually compare every song I own or have hear to these songs. I just came up with the rating first, then just included my song ratings so people would know the ones I liked compared to ones I didn't like as much. I don't have a mathematical system or plan on using one. I was about to give you props for actually doing math to justify my rating. I wouldn't do math unless I had too.

What makes this album better overall than others with 'better technicality'? What other bands are you talking about? If
you really want to debate you need to listen to other albums, and more than once...
See, classic albums are almost always rated as classics because the rater believes they are rock-solid albums. The
whole for them is greater than the sum of their parts. Often this is because there is an overarching theme or story
being told, that each piece, even if there is a debatably weak song on there, contributes to. But if it's a singles album,
it'd better have the best freaking singles and come together as well as studio album (see, arguably, Incubus, Foo
Fighters)
But All the Right Reasons has those singles you like and we know scattered among bouts of insanity. So non-rock solid
album? 4.5 at the most. And this review doesn't read like a 4.5 anyway. I love and treasure my 4's and 3.5's too. You
could give it a higher rating yourself for your own nostalgia (until you discover better songs than Rockstar, really), but
reviews should be more objective.

EDIT: This comment's awkward formatting won't get fixed, sorry

I've heard of Thrice before. They sounded good, just never got any of their stuff. I'll look into Zelliack. And I can listen to whatever I want to so, the bands you suggest don't have to be clean or anything. I just like new music.

Mastille, I listen to all the albums I own at least 3 times before giving it any rating. I probably overrated this album because it got me into heavier stuff than Jars of Clay and Alabama (all I listen to until I was 7). Then I found Nickelback, Daughty, and Decemberadio and got into mainstream rock. Then found heavier Christian bands like Pillar, Red, Skillet, TFK, Disciple, and the like. And Demon Hunter got me into Christian metal (if I may call them a Christian metal band). Sorry, got a little off subject, but I have a soft place in my heart for this one album. I know it isn't perfect and just wrote my opinions down. Every album I give a 4.5/5 or 5/5 are the closest to perfect albums I'll ever find, so I pick my favorite of those and give them 5/5.
