"metallic you could say that about shine on you crazy diamond ;)"

yea but in all fairness shine on was done what, 30 years before this and still is waay more memorable

first bit of this is your typical DT crooning ballad, anyway, once it gets rolling song is tight

"Live at the Budokan in Japan is a prime example of how their concerts should be" totally agree, that dvd ruled even tho labrie screwed up a bit on Endless Sacrifice

And yeah, title track rules. Most memorable bit for me is when the solo cuts out and everything stops apart from Petrucci's acoustic guitar for about 2 seconds

Pink Floyd were obviously a big influence, but come on, DT just bring it on a whole new level (of absolute epicness)

I thought Score was infinitely better than Budakon.

And DT and Floyd are kind of weird to compare, since they're from such different eras of prog.

DT are inspired by Floyd and show a lot of influence (Octavarium intro, Breaking All Illusions, Peruvian Skies etc), but have a different overall sound

Floyd usually sounds more mature and truly artistic, Dream Theater has a lot more awesome material though. Images and Words and Awake ftw
