Hahaha, MAGICAL. Man, that last paragraph is ridiculous. I'm surprised the rating is so low. Reads like a classic.

I don't understand what's laughable about the review. I described it exactly as I saw fit and didn't add any "oh, it's Taylor" brownie points or additional adoration. I understand if anyone doesn't agree, that's the nature of listening to music, especially by really popular artists that people have grown to love or hate. But questioning the validity of my opinion is ridiculous, not because my opinion should be held in higher regard than others, but because an opinion will always be just that.
People saying things like I'm on Team Taylor is utterly stupid, if you like an artist, you like an artist and guess what you have a higher chance of enjoying his/her music! It makes no sense to bash my opinion or my review (unless there is something legitimately wrong with it besides your disagreement) just to express your disdain for Taylor Swift.

I would rate anything 4+ if it had Taylor's name on it

This thread is so lame, lol. Basically I see where Jake is coming from with this comment:
Yeah so it's your opinion and all... which is fine. But I question its validity given your
ridiculous amounts of adoration for her, most of which taints this review, i.e. kinda reads like a
press release from her marketing company. I take in what you say but only with a MASSIVE grain of
salt. Make it a mountain actually, a mountain of salt. Will check this out.
But, I mean, c'mon - Sowing backed his points up pretty well. He's approaching it from a positive
angle because he likes the release, and that's no surprise: many of us approach album reviews this
exact same way. He doesn't need to approach this more objectively because it's Taylor Swift.
Further more, I'm pretty sure (not that it matters a whole lot) that anyone giving this a 1-1.5
didn't listen to and watch this, especially those people who didn't like Speak Now. I'm so
god damn sure that those same people actually sat down and watched the entire DVD release (which
JUST came out).

I don't think it's a matter of questioning your opinion, as much as questioning how fanboyish it really is.
|

did you just call Black Holes and Revelations Muse's magnum opus?
