Found this for 2 bucks at a book festival we have done here in Aussie. Just finished my first listen through and I'm in awe. Outside of Losing My Religion (Mom's favourite song) and Everybody Hurts I've never really given these guys much of a listen. If first listen is any indicator I'm going to be in love with this for some time. What records should I spin next?

Bear with me here:
If you want music similar to this but with a more pop direction than check out Out of Time which has Losing My Religion on it. It's overall a good album but honestly it's a little too varied and isn't too concise of a record, very all over the place. Some of the songs are a bit of a precursor to this album though, namely Half a World Away and Country Feedback which are two of the best songs on the album and Low which is rather dirgy.
If you want R.E.M.'s other "best" album, check out Murmur, their first record. Just about all of the songs are excellent jangle pop/alternative rock that sounds very different to Automatic for the People, but the songs are all really catchy and well written so I'm sure you'll get something out of it. It may take a few listens to truly understand but when you do you'll keep coming back for more.
Those are my two suggestions and if you have any more questions just let me know

Nice, thanks for the suggestions, appreciate it! Been getting into older classics lately so that's one of the reasons I picked this up (Pet Sounds was another I found, loving that one too). If there are any other records you'd recommend I'm all ears.
