I just got into it at the right time. Used to enjoy it, gave it a 4, but didn't understand why everyone thought they were the kings of midwest revival.
Fast forward to my senior year of high school, then the summer, in the midst of a lot of change in my life while my depression slowly begins to spike. Suddenly, it just smacks me in the face.

It was basically the soundtrack to my freshman and sophomore years of college, during which my mental health plummeted, culminating in my attempt and eventually moving back home to try and start over at a different uni. I love that record from the bottom of my heart for how much it helped and kept me going, but it kills me just to hear the first second of "An Introduction..."
I think that's the only album I cannot bring myself to listen to much, if at all.

This album and A Crow Looked At Me are just too much. They aren't so much music as they are expressions of grief.
Both excellent pieces of work but I can't jam this ya feel. At least with Stage Four there is a sense of hope and acceptance, but this and Crow are just devastating and leave me feeling empty.

Such a hard 5 men. One of the most emotional albums I've ever heard. Very fitting for my mood right now.
