Why would you want to torture yourself that much?
|
| |
firstly, i'm interested in the history of rock music as much as rock music itself so sooner or later i'll have to listen to them anyway. and secondly i always want to broaden my musical horizons, though I've gotta admit it's really hard in this case.

Just listen to Transformer and Master Of Puppets and call it a day.
|
| |
I know Lou Reed. If I only listened to Transformer I would miss Berlin, Metal Machine Music, Street Hassle, The Bells, New York, Magic and Loss and Ecstasy, which are all better, and a few albums just as good.
As for Metallica, yes, Master of Puppets is probably the best so far, but who knows, maybe St. Anger's better?
|
| |
Yes, St. Anger is miles better than Master Of Puppets.
|
| |
i can now confirm it isn't
this might be though. might be even better than Berlin and Magic and Loss, actually. The opener and "Iced Honey" smell a bit but overall the concept is wonderful, lyrics are very good and Lou's performance is pure passion. love it

instrumentally tho, this is dull from what I've heard(half of Junior Dad and a couple other tracks)
|
| |
Well the album is rather minimalistic, as it should be

Didn't someone call this "the musical equivalent of watching your dad get beat up"?
Wish I could find that page.

"Typical rockstar bullshit. Yes James, we get it. You sold 100 million albums and your tour sold out stadiums every year but you don't need to be a total rockstar douche to remind us of your table status. Jimi Hendrix was a table but he was humble enough to not remind us."
YouTube gold.

I mean, I give them both credit for trying something new, but this blows.
