It's actually a funny coincidence that I was listening to this and thought to come here and comment that and you just so happened to comment on it.
For me that's the song where I just have to just drive through it. It also feels like the longest song (but it's just shy of Ghost to Rest)

Listening to this for the first time and Song of the Blackest Bird immediately struck me as sounding like a lite-version of almost any other song they've recorded previously. Sounds like it just plods through the most typical Insomnium motions without any real passion

Lay the ghost to rest is top notch Insomnium. I was going into this album with such bad prejudices and it actually turns out to be strong. However it does feel like a less refined version of what they achieved on SoaDS. It still is consistent as hell, and those clean vox fit perfectly

Great album. I’m a production stickler and I really don’t find this album to be that bad. I kinda like it. Definitely has its own feel relative to the others.
