ok I have officially listened to this album 3 times all the way through like I said I would

I am very dissapointed. The only track I thoroughly enjoyed was

"Decoherence"(Instrumental Track)

I've been listening to Insomnium for over 5 years now and I'm very

familiar with their riffing style and usage of riffs in general

I could only pick out about 2-3 new riffs used here throughout the album

Everying else is just recycled, which can be a good thing if taken further.

But as mentioned earlier, this album for me, is also a tease in aggression and melody, both never truly satisfying my needs.

My rating stands

They might. It's definitely more interesting and less two-dimensional than a lot of their old stuff. Let me know.

It'll be up soon, just want to make sure it reflects exactly how I feel about this because it's kind of complicated.

I'm still not quite sure what to think about this, for the listening moment it doesn't seem bad - but it doesn't stick.

"Yes, the songs are still based around huge, hooky, melodies but"

second comma is awkward. but grand review anyways, I have yet to hear anything from these guys but this looks like a place to start.

Through the Shadows and Regain the Fire are TERRIBLE, they should have been dropped. Rest of the album is solid, Ghost is one of the best songs they've done.. and Every Hour Wounds is turning out to be a Last Statement, the buildup and outro is incredible:O

Summary: Insomnium have crafted their most diverse and complete album to date. Just about everything has been improved upon and the result is one of the best releases in their history.

so, in other words, it sounds exactly like anything they've ever done?
