There are very few instances (if any) on this album where a song will stagnate after the first few minutes.
I don't know about this disc, but the rest of their discography does it quite well. Great review buddy.

Agreed, though I don't think StDiACD suffers from this.

This is still a great album but yeah pretty much.
Could have been seven minutes of doomy sex, but you got a three minute, unfinished handjob instead. But it was still hot.
That's my summary for that song. From the perspective of the man, I guess, haha.

Didn't even know this was coming out

Describes my feelings about this album more or less perfectly.
And I wish Niilo had more say in the songwriting process, this album would have turned out quite differently I think.

So what you're saying is that all these songs DONT sound the same as everything they've ever done ever?
|
| |
You can alter it as needed for your review's summary, if you like, lol.
I wonder if there are any tensions about Friman being so dominating... I'd get frustrated if I were Niilo.

So what you're saying is that all these songs DONT sound the same as everything they've ever done ever? I'm saying that the formula is still there, but they've managed to improve on the foundation while including a more diverse range of songs and 'movements'.

Not really sure, but it seems like Niilo is the one who likes the slower, doomy numbers so any increase in Niilo's influence in the songwriting process is fine with me!

Fair enough Willie.
Insomnium are sort of a like a a party drug for me, I never really have any desire to listen to them most days of the week, but occasionally I want a fix so I'll listen to them or Dark Tranquility or something and get my epic melodic fix. Good times!

I guess I should check some of this out. One thing is for sure though: they always have good album art.
|

Nice, I'm going to have to check this out. I actually thought there was some good stuff off their last CD.

Yeah, me too. Though we're a minority it seems.

Decoherence sounded like it was gonna be an epic pop ballad at first lol.
