Okay spinning this now, 'Ace Of Wands' sounds sweet.

Of all the other prog musicians who went solo, none of them ever created a prog album as good as this.

Peter Gabriel is a terrific solo artist but his stuff isn't exactly 'prog' so that may be why you didn't mention him.... After a full listen, i can tell this is pretty good, need further listens to rate it.

@Daniel; Try Please Don't Touch, Spectral Mornings, Defector and Beyond the Shrouded Horizon as well.

As for Peter Gabriel, I enjoy his discography the most. He has nearly a perfect one. While not exactly in prog, he often flirts with the genre. He is more into art rock/pop than anything though.

I'll spin Spectral Mornings since my dad has it on CD and make my way from there, thanks for the rec. And yeah, Peter Gabriel's solo stuff deserves to be talked about more here.

Yeah Gabriel's solo stuff isn't strictly 'prog'. I'd still probably rate this above any single solo album of his though.

This is the only prog solo album that can actually sit comfortably alongside other 70's prog classics.

I have a feeling whoever did the music for the Final Fantasy series has listened to this at some point

I found Spectral to be nice, but Please Don't Touch is such a poor follow up to this

Icarus Ascending rules though

if you haven't, you need to check Anthony Phillips' stuff
