Stellar album. Every Carcass release is unique and this one is the perfect blend of brutality and melody.

Every member is absolutely killing it on this album, including newly added member Michael Amott who's melodic solos are complimentary to riff master Bill Steer. Ken of course is killing it on the drums with great cymbal use, double bass, and blasts. Jeff's regurgitated and raspy snarling vocals sound as good as ever.

The riffs on this album are incredible... Catchy and structured perfectly. Bill Steer the legend is so underrated it's sad. Incarnated Solvent Abuse has a killer opening riff and Corporal Jigsore Quandary's riff right after the solo is GOLD.

A great touch to this album are the creepy samples, notably Pedigree Butchery which has humans being ground up and put into cans sold as dog food.

The lyrics of course are some of the best they have written. They are both disgusting and hilarious, mainly dealing with the disposal of human corpses. You may need a medical journal to decipher the majority of lyrics.

Production is cleaner than Symphonies, yet remains still heavy. Colin Richardson never disappoints, allowing all the instruments to shine.

Forensic Clinicism/The Sanguine Article is an amazing way to close out this masterpiece. The last 40 seconds are incredible with that eerie lead, chugging riff, and pounding drums.

Top 5 1991. Never gets tiring.
