well you asked me to explain how it was important and i did, but yes obviously queensryche blew up and they deserved it but so did fates warning, its just fates warning were less assessable

dream theater wasnt the first to play prog metal
dream theater totally changed the genre with i&w, that was much different than anything before it (fates, queensryche). they created the signature sound of prog metal
