I've always sorta disagreed with the Nothingface end of this. Even though it has more prog metal than thrash, I still consider it to be prog-thrash to some extent. Not fully, but at least to some extent.

Vocals were always an acquired taste for this band, usually it takes some time for them to sink in.
On another note, whenever I think of this album, I have the misconception that it was released in the mid '90s, and I'm always amazed when I realize that it was recorded in 1989!...
