Yea xings right. I'm not really a fan of religion either but it's not like they blatantly just write Jesus rules in every song in the most blunt way possible so it's not really a problem for me. Unless you're reeeeeally anti religion or something.

I like this album. It's not one I love, but I can respect how refined Thrice's sound became with time- and there are certainly some great songs on this one too. "Call It In The Air" is particularly stellar.

Thrice doing as Thrice do, they simply don't write bad music.

Call it in the Air annoys me because it's such a stellar song musically but I really don't like the lyrics and have a hard time enjoying it because of that. Every other song on here is lyrically spectacular, except for that one.

And no mention of Treading Paper yet.

Agreed, Call it in the Air is a bit disappointing.

Treading Paper is one of the best here.

But Call it in the Air is so good, tho. Words in the Water is also pretty glorious.

You know, Treading Paper is probably the most forgettable song for me. Not so much that it's bad or anything, but I can at least think of one section or more from every song on this album except for that one. I always have to listen to it again to remember what it sounds like.

Treading Paper and Call are both two of my favorites on here, but I will admit that the lyrics to Call it in the Air are obscenely disappointing given Dustin's usual level of quality.

Oh, wow, those are kind of bare bones lyrics, aren't they? I never really noticed before.

Yeah they pretty much say the same thing repeatedly but that same thing happens to be nothing at all

Sometimes it's just pure songwriting. Those guitar tones, drum sounds, those textures man. It all works so well. I haven't heard Identity Crisis yet but every single other record is a 4 or above
