definitely better than GKMC this is a borderline classic album 2011 was a good yr. in hip hop.

Completely disagree with this. GKMC is much more of a cohesive/unified vision; it takes the conceptual nature of this and evolves it to an extreme almost nobody expected, plus the highs on that album absolutely, unarguably, crush anything on here to bits and pieces. The "breaking into the mainstream" may have contributed to its commercial success, but was not the primary cause of the critical adulation it received.

i don't care what anybody says GKMC is not a classic.a album with a more "cohesive/unified vision" of the environment/city that a MC comes from & is done better is Illmatic now that is a classic GKMC doesn't even compare.GKMC is a solid 4 nothing more in my honest opinion listening to GKMC after hearing this was a let down.

i sort of got it but wasn't for sure.he's just going out of left field now but anyways i'm comparing GKMC to Illmatic a classic hip hop album because they're of the same genre and some consider GKMC a classic tho i do not agree this is a rational comparison.if he is referring to the Pink Floyd album it is actually comparable to Illmatic in respect that they heavily influenced their respected genres.i really want to have a sensible debate of why GKMC is considered a classic!

i just can't get why people think GKMC is better than this i guess the majority of people who feel that way discovered Kendrick from that album.this album in my opinion just has so much more depth to it.

always thought S.80 was better than GKMC. This one got production that gives off that Thief/Drive vibe. Neon LA lights and such.

this album is easily better, its 10x as genuine, it was before he started being concerned with targeting an audience cuz Jimmy Iovine said it would be a good idea.
