A friend played some of this in the car, but I don't remember what it sounded like...ah well, I'll check it out.

@ tuk; production is like that 'cause it's a lo-fi record. In other words, it's supposed to be like that.

"Carrot Flowers 1" and "Two Headed Boy" really are. Perhaps "Holland" as well.

That "JESUS CHRIST I LOVE YOU" thing really put me off on first listen.

@dimsim - I know, but back then it was the first lo-fi record I listened to and it was really hard to get into.

Great review, but there's a typo in the second paragraph. It should be "tries" not "trys." Best songs on the album are "Two-Headed Boy," "Oh Comely", and "Two-Headed Boy Part 2." Anyone see Jeff Mangum on his recent little solo tour? I was dying to go to the show in NYC, but tickets on StubHub were going for $250 minimum. I probably should have bitten the bullet, but something in me informs me that seeing him live may have ruined some of the mystique of this record.

The lyrical interpretations of "Communist Daughter" are extremely disturbing.

Also, just noticed that Adam wasn't censored for "fuck it". Lucky staff bastards...

I guess Paris Hilton is alright after all:

Anyone who loves this album should check out that radio session; it's fantastic. He also has another live radio performance called "Live At Aquarius Records" which contains at least three non-album tracks. I believe they are still available for download for free from the Elephant 6 Collective's website.

first of all, that's photoshopped.

there's a bunch of those floating around on the interwebz that people made essentially in an attempt to troll and piss off people who think that the album rules and that paris hilton sucks.

Secondly, POSING WITH A PICTURE OF ITAOTS WOULD IN KNOW WAY EXCUSE ANYTHING PARIS HILTON HAS DONE. the fact that she's still a living, breathing human being is an abomination in itself, but oh well. live and let live....

good.

glad that's settled.

Awesome album, the title track is one of my favorite songs, like, everrr

I still can't listen to the 'I love you Jesus C-hriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiist' bit without cringing though
