@Demigod Fun Trick Noisemake is awesome. Super heavy Beatles and Beach Boys influence even in the production. It's kind of in the same boat as some of Elliott Smiths later work (except for happy) and pretty similar to Quasi.

As much as I want to like this album more than I do, something holds me back. I just have a slight inclination sometimes to reach through my headphones, shake Mr. Mangum, and forcefully encourage him to cheer up a little and grow some balls. He wrote a concept song about Anne Frank because of how sad reading Anne Frank's Diary made him, for Christ's sake.
The highlights mostly make up for those feelings, though. Not quite a personal classic for me, like it seems to be for everyone else though. My personal favorite is Untitled.....just straight bagpipe jamming.
Two Headed Boy kinda makes me want to vomit, though. Too mannered and wimpy for me.

Definitely one of my favourite albums ever. The atmosphere is gorgeous and the pure emotion is
unparalleled. Title track, Oh Comely and Two-Headed Boy are my favourites, but this is an album that's
meant to be listened to as an album.

HOW did that show actually just happen. Someone e-pinch me hard cause I refuse to believe that something so magical took place tonight.
A phenomenal concert. Captivating, emotional, and every other adjective you could have possibly imagined attaching to a NMH reunion tour show. FUCK. ME. RUNNING.
p.s. and the opener didn't suck but was actually real fukin good!!!!
