Most people in general hate the term Intelligent Dance Music because it's a horrible genre name. But at the end of the day it stuck and it shouldn't really get anyone's fedora in a bunch if they hear it. IDM/Braindance/Experimental Electronic Music or whatever other classification you wanna give it doesn't really have an impact on the music itself.

this is awesome. definitely glad I listened to the mid 90s stuff before diving into this one though, especially RDJ Album and I Care Because You Do. would've probably been very off-putting if I'd just jumped from SAW 85-92 straight to this.
