So far I'm really liking this.
Odd because I never liked their first two albums too much. Might have to revisit them.

If I ever get around to listening to this in its entirety I'll probably give it a 4.

Wizard, I can't believe you don't like this. I think the album is fairly solid all around. For me, this never really sounded like a tech-death kind of album. There's too much thrash influence for me to classify this as tech-death. As for the production argument, meh, who cares. As long as the music turns out solid, then I'm on board.

This musicianship is extremely wanky, so I could see this turning a lot of thrash fans off. I believe
Davidson was named the top modern guitarist by Metalsucks.

There are four (not three) musicians in Revocation as of Chaos of Forms. New guy Dan Gargiulo on guitar.

the old school vibe is pretty cool.
|
| |
no old school vibe here. my wank/death 'n' roll radar is going off.
this is very happy sounding; i'm not feeling the death. they even do some hard rock numbers in some of their songs.
yes it's a bit overproduced, but yes these guys have skill.
they need to do away with the studio wizardry and drum triggers and shit, master the album with full dynamics, do mostly low growls, throw out the death n roll and bring the fucking death.
otherwise this shit is poor, just like wizard said.

omg i agree with valerius on something
doomsday

Cool. Yeah I was thinking maybe these guys created a new genre, but I'm not sure cuz I'm not Mr Current Affairs.

My second favorite album of 2011, these guys are so underrated. Davidson is such an underrated guitar
player, the Thrash and Death metal elements are blended well (although it leans more on Thrash).

Same here lak89, right behind Sylosis' release. I'm still listening to this thing!

im usually not into this kind of m3tal but im totally digging what i'm hearing. probably because of the added melodic work
|
| |
this isn't 'm3tal'
|
| |
lol ok
the organ and horns on the watchers is totally kick ass
|
| |
this is not that good.
I enjoy the guitarwork, riffs arent bad, voc are ok but the prod is so clean cut i hate it. Not to mention how djenty this shit is. At one point I thought I was listening to a cross breed between meshuggah, arch enemy and animals as leaders, not a good combo to say the least. 2/5

Lol you act as if yours ever was with those shitty ratings. And no, I was listening to the same shitty record you'd give a 4.5.
Srsly l2thrash kid.

'thought I was listening to a cross breed between meshuggah, arch enemy and animals as leaders, not a good combo to say the least'
sounds alright to me.

not really, the 3 styles seem like it would just be mass chaos with each style trying to blend into each other but instead they end up fighting each other for the spotlight
