Debut’s the only record they’ve ever dropped that at any given point, I’d prefer not to listen

Agreed, just don't think it's good enough to play over other albums from the band/genre. Believe me, I TRIED to get into it lol

Yeah it has some great moments and it's never really bad per se. A totally different vibe than anything else they've done.

Give me Cherry Tree or Virgina over that album any day, some of their most underappreciated stuff

I Am Easy to Find definitely broke their streak of 6 straight 4.5 LPs, but it's still a solid record. More a victim of remarkable consistency than anything

TWFM ruined their streak of 5s for me, but there's some fanaticism over that album here. Think I've heard more people cite that as their favorite than not... honesty can't imagine, and I saw them in Chicago when they were touring it

TWFM is my favorite but Alligator is very close behind.

I will say I have the most sentimental value attached to TWFM.. I was dealing with a lot of the themes on that album when it came out, especially the back half, and over time the songs on it have come to represent people and places from my past. It's just a bittersweet experience for me now, so I try not to revisit it more than once a year or so in its entirety. Certainly still an incredible record deserving of praise.

I don’t agree but this is incredible too so you’re not really wrong.

I enjoy the lack of emphasis on his voice on here (it never gelled too well with me), and love the sonic adventurousness

It's a jam, glad I checked (:
