after Seven Nation Army that Elephant will be filled with new and sellout pop-rock songs. Thankfully for the true music fans, that is not the case.

I'm tempted to neg this review because of that stupid statement. I didn't know sellout was a genre these days. Seven Nation Army is one of the greatest modern day rock songs. And the world sell-out pisses me off in 90% of the context it is used in.

You should note that I used the word sellout in that sentence describing why fans would be pissed. I dont think that they're sell outs at all.

Why havent I heard anyone mention Ball and a Biscuit? The three solos on that track are reason enough to buy the whole album. If you only listen to one Stripes song listen to that one.

Yeah a did, the reviewer obviosly likes it. I wouldnt call it ingenious though because its basically pentatonic noodling. But I was talking about the other commentors. They hadnt mentioned that song yet...

come on! Meg White's vocals on "In the Cold, Cold Night" are fantastic! I wish she could do more and more and more songs on vocals! And it is my opinion that the drums in The White Stripe's Elephant (and all of their other records) are intentionally simplistic. It makes it feel, despite the shimmer and shine of this record, like their hearts are still in the garage.

meg white's vocals are decent, but her drumming is just poor on 'icky thump' she uses cymbals more, which partially drown out her otherwise boring rhythms
