I'm not awesome enough to be your alt, oh and don't forget my lackluster writing...
I do share your insane love for Brand New though

Ouch, although I can't say this comes unexpected: it seems we're on the same page regarding their albums: A Better Life and Away From the Sun were good mainstream rock, then they didn't take long to become an exercise to listen to. My ratings for them have gone chronologically downhill, so I'll probably agree with this. Usual pos and all that.

I honestly don't see how they can convince themselves that said song discussed all that.

Not in their defence or anything, but this is just explaining his personal ideas that caused writing this song, the theme is universal so everyone can connect their own experiences to it, etc. It may be blantantly cheap in the case of 3DD and especially this song, but this is what many more bands do.

"This record shows some growth on our part. We've had success in the past and we're very thankful for that, but there's always room to… take it up to another level. And I feel like we did that. There's a lot of songs that people can immediately identify with. We just really wanted to do our best on this record, and looking back on the whole experience, I can really say that we did."

That bolded bit there is truthful enough, after all it is part of how their money's made. The obligatory artistic growth story is obvious bullshit.

i totally agree that the band is lazy, however there exist some other bands that are too lazy to create something better, or too scared for a change for they don't want to fail. Disturbed, to me, is one of the bands that are topping 'the lazy bands chart'. I still like them but had enough of the same riffs and U-WAHAHAA's.

I'm secretly a sowing alt.

Was hoping the review would be funnier. Had no doubts this would be an abomination. Band is fucking awful.

Its actually hard to review bland mainstream rock albums. I recently did the new Burn Halo and struggled with what to say aside from how bland and uninspiring it was.

Old summary was better.

These guys are even bland compared to other mainstream rock bands.
