I never really found anything from Queensryche that I actually enjoyed... This album follows that trend unfortunately.

I am a hardcore QR fan. I've been with them since the 4 song (not the later 5 song version) EP. I've been to 40+ concerts, have met the band on several occasions, and have loved every album......until now. I like maybe 3 songs total. I reluctantly have to agree with everything in this review. I like the fact that you didn't trash it outright but thought out every aspect of it. Nothing I can disagree with. Hopefully Michael and Eddie will sit Geoff down and convince him to go back to harder riffs and more substantial lyrics. I love this band and always will. I don't think they're anywhere near death but simply lost their way for a single album.

They're already writing for another album, according to interviews. Maybe it's because they realized that this one sucked, but since Geoff Tate is so full of himself these days, I doubt it.

After Chris departure this band was never the same. Shame.
I probably will be (once again) very disappointed if I ever listen this record.

After Chris departure this band was never the same. Shame.
People always say that, but they forget that he was responsible for Hear in the Now Frontier and his contribution to Tribe wasn't any better than the songs he wasn't a part of.
I probably will be (once again) very disappointed if I ever listen this record. That's an understatement.

Hear in the Now Frontier it's not so bad (worst than the previous sure)
Chris was the main composer of all their classic records, that's why many people say that Willie. Geoff was the frontman but Chris was the brain IMO.
I interviewed Chris once. His a very cool and smart guy.

Hear in the Now held the distinction as the worse Queensryche album ever until this one was released, and that was his fault (as you indirectly pointed out). He was the main composer of the classic albums, but also the initiator of their downfall with Hear in the Now.

He wanted to put some grunge stuff into their sound on Hear in the Now. It was clearly a mistake.
To be honest I don't like none of their records after Promised Land.
