the beats remind me a bit of bastard though i think it's not that obvious. personally, i think OF are gonna make a big

impact in the future of hip-hop

I personally don't find any similarities between this and Odd Future, but whatever floats yr boat.

i haven't stopped listening to this since i first gave it a spin

doesn't remind me at all of any members of odd future. i sorta get the metaphysical + fractured vibe that i get from clouddead but this is much less spacey. otherwise i wouldn't really compare it to anything, although that's maybe morea result of my lack of knowledge in the field of hip hop than anything else

^nah I think you're on point, this shit is pretty unique ("way too advanced"). Like I said in the review it reminds me of El-P, a reference that Cokemachineglow also pointed out in there new review. Also they referenced Mobb Deep which, I guess. And Noah23 who I don't think anyone (including me) listens too.

digging this. Very fresh. Don't see the comparison to OF

It's kind of an aesthetic comparison (ie. the queasy production, similar synth use in "are you can you were you" to many of the songs in bastard, darkness). I don't see the earl comparison though actually... I can't remember why I agreed with that in the first place.

just because he uses synths doesnt mean they sound like OF. i mean OF (mostly tyler) are basically doing their own twist of the neptunes, this is fairly different.

"just because he uses synths doesn't mean they sound like OF"

this is true. i'm just saying that to me it sounds similar. the neptunes are more upbeat and danceable in general though, OF is pretty sludgy. i think shabazz has kind of that sludgy/queasy/drugged up vibe that Tyler's stuff has.
